Description
Being a rare color, this antique Steiff bear is in extremely beautiful, all original condition ( no clothes needed here ). This wonderful old bear has been treasured, for he spent most of his life in the bottom of a china cabinet, away from dust and light. His mohair is a dark, rich chocolate brown. As a larger Steiff bear, he is the 50cm or 20" tall size. His amber color glass eyes give him an intense real bear look. According to the original owner, his style and glass eyes date him to the 1920s -1930s, when glass eyes started to be used on Steiff bears. The Steiff button was removed long ago. This is an estate item from a smoke free home. - all joints are tight, for a bear this age - amber color glass eyes have no scratches or chips - growler is non-working - original felt pads have a few slight thin areas - very light wear is present on the end of the nose, and around the edges of paws and feet - original black stitching on mouth is fragile - mohair is super thick and shiny all over - stuffing is firm - antique silk ribbon added This is a hard-to-find, well preserved, charming antique Steiff bear that will surely steal your heart.
